Sahlim Charles: Founder and Executive Director
Sahlim Charles is a communication person and film maker with interest in improving and impacting the lives of youth and people living in the sub-saharan Africa.
He is a youth developer who has been and still is part of key youth organization working on issues of youth development, human rights, governance and advocacy.
He is a pioneering member of the team that founded K-Youth Media, a leading community media and film organization that trains youth from the urban slums of Nairobi. Sahlim is credited for ensuring professionalism and key development at K-Youth Mediathat saw the organization named as one of the best film schools in Nairobi.
He is the head of Future Leaders Programme at Global Business Roundtable (GBR) East African Chapter which is headquartered in South Africa with other chapters in 30 countries globally. GBR-East Africa is a development organization that provides mentorship, networking, training and development platform for people who wish to build good foundation for their business or future progress. It is coordinated from Kenya Co-founder The New Image Youth Organization, a youth led organization that trains youth and young mother on entrepreneurship, advocacy and leadership, so as to give a voice and increase entrepreneurial knowledge of the youth and youth leaders working in Nairobi.
Co-Founder and Director, Ismarwa Holdings Company Limited, a registered company in Kenya that carries out a number of programmes which includes and not limited to filmmaking, to participate,consult,excute marketing advertising campaigns above and below the line of advertising
Sahlim Charles has consulted for several organization including, The Youth Congress,Miss Koch Kenya, Kenya Private Sector Alliance, UNICEF, World Youth Alliance and Youth Initiative Kenya.
Sahlim is an alumni of Youth and Millenium Development Goals coursefacilitated by UNFPA, Youth Action for Change and Youth Dividend.
He is also an alumni of Athena-global exchange programme for vocational training-in Sweden.
He is a member of medialabthat brings together Kenyan journalist interested in reporting Climate Change.
He has gone through intensive community development trainings with eye for developing youth workers. He is a trained marketer.
He is also a passionate volunteer serving as an advisor for youth groups, women organizations and county government programmes
He has produced a number of documentaries including and not limited to Agenda Yetu Documentary, a documentary film, partly funded by Ford Foundation and Akiba Uhaki Foundation. The documentary highlights youth agenda for Nairobi County.
Sahlim Charles is a member of a number of youth associations, alliances and networks across the globe He is currently studying international relations and communications.
